First, open the Moodle 2.7 course to which the archive will be restored.

Click the Backup link on the left side of the screen under Administration and follow the prompts (Next and Continue buttons that take you through 5 steps) for a default backup.

Once completed, look under Administration, and click Edit settings.

Expand the Files and uploads heading. Change the Maximum upload size to the maximum number allowed (500mb).

Scroll to the bottom of the page and Save changes.

On the left side of the screen under Administration, click Restore.

Locate your backed up file, left-click and drag the file into the box with the blue arrow under Import a backup file. (You can also click Choose a file in the Import a backup file box and browse to the location of the backed up file and click Open.)

Once the file is uploaded, click Restore.

Restore Step 1--Confirm: Scroll down and click Continue at the bottom of the screen.

Restore Step 2--Destination: Under the Restore into this course label, select Merge the backup course into this course, and click the Continue button within that box.

Restore Step 3--Settings: Click the Next button at the bottom of the screen.

Restore Step 4--Schema: Click the Next button at the bottom of the screen.

Restore Step 5--Review: Click the Perform restore button at the bottom of the screen.

Restore Step 6--Process: There is nothing to click for this step. Depending on the backup file size, this step can take several minutes.

Restore Step 7--Complete: After receiving the successful restore message, click Continue to display the restored course.
