You may subscribe to this blog using RSS (Really Simple Syndication), which sends automatic updates to the reader of your choice—such as Outlook, MyYahoo or a web browser. Rather than checking this site for new content, you’ll receive a summary of and link to each post.
To subscribe, you need a tool such as Outlook 2007, MyYahoo!, an RSS aggregator or a recent browser that automatically detects RSS feeds (such as IE7 or Firefox).
Note to IE6 users: IE6 does not detect RSS feeds and displays only a code page. Refer to item 2 in instructions for Outlook 2007 below or use another feed aggregator.
For Outlook 2007
Notifications will be sent to the RSS Feeds folder included in Outlook 2007, NOT to your email inbox.
1. To add a new feed, use your web browser to open this site on a computer that is running Outlook 2007. Click the orange RSS button in the top-right corner of this site. You’ll be taken to a “feed” page. Click the Subscribe to this feed link in the yellow box at the top of the page. The feed will automatically appear in your Outlook RSS Feeds folder.
2. You may also add a feed through Outlook 2007 without using your browser. In Outlook, go to the Tools menu and click Account Settings. On the RSS Feeds tab, click New. In the New RSS Feed dialog box, type or press CTRL+V to paste the URL of the RSS Feed (http://connect.rhodes.edu/deansblog/?feed=rss2). Click Add. Click OK.
For more information, see Microsoft’s Outlook Help Page.
For MyYahoo!
Click on the “My Yahoo!” button.
Follow the instructions provided by the RSS aggregator for adding the feed to your MyYahoo!
For Other RSS Aggregators
Go to the orange RSS button in the top-right corner of this site and right-click (or if you’re a Mac user control-click) on the orange RSS button. Select “copy link,” “copy shortcut,” or “copy target address.” (You also can click on the button and copy the URL for the address/location bar of the browser.) Launch your RSS reader and input the URL that you just copied into the program.
