The Rhodes Historical Review is a student journal published annually which showcases outstanding undergraduate history research. We are looking for essays 3,000-6,000 words in length. They can be written for any department and from any year, as long as they retain a historical focus. Essays must be submitted BEFORE Christmas break. <p> Purchase Christmas gifts for a needy child. Gifts due back Nov. 30.</p>
<p> The Rhodes circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national honor society, is holding its  annual “Angel Tree” in the Burrow Refectory lobby. The tree contains the names of needy children who have been identified by the Salvation Army.</p>
<p> Students, faculty and staff can select a child for whom they wish to purchase gifts. Gifts are to be returned  unwrapped in the sack provided to Hyde Hall of the Refectory, by 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 30.</p>
<p> ODK Vice President Jackie Hancock ’10 is coordinator of the Angel Tree program. Other ODK officers are seniors Betsy Parkinson (President), Carrie Tennant (Secretary) and Hannah Spirrison (Elections).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Habitat For Humanity will be having a gingerbread house building competition on November 18th from 6-8pm in the Lair. Please come out and show your support for Habitat For Humanity by building a gingerbread house and having some fun!! There will be a $5 entry fee with all proceeds going to habitat for humanity and there is a limit of 5 people per house. We will provide the gingerbread, icing, and candy for decorating but feel free to bring your own candy to decorate also. There will be great prizes for the top winners and we will have sign-ups in the rat and lair the week before this event. Look out for more information about this event around campus as we will have more information about prizes as the time gets closer.</p>

<p><strong>“Adopt” a child or senior citizen starting Nov. 5 and return gifts by Nov. 30.</strong></p>
<p> The Rhodes circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national honor society, will hold its  annual “Angel Tree” in the Burrow Refectory lobby starting Thursday, November 5. The tree will contain the names of needy children and senior citizens who have been identified by the Salvation Army.</p>
<p> Students, faculty and staff can sponsor an “Angel” by purchasing and returning gifts (unwrapped) in the sack provided to Hyde Hall of the Refectory, by 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 30.</p>
<p> ODK Vice President Jackie Hancock ’10 is coordinator of the Angel Tree program. Other ODK officers are seniors Betsy Parkinson (President), Carrie Tennant (Secretary) and Hannah Spirrison (Elections).</p>
