Barret Library has a Facebook page! You can find a direct link at the bottom of the library homepage , or you may simply search for Rhodes College Barret Library.

Why should you become a fan?

Are you aware that Barret’s hours of operation change during holidays or exam periods? What new resources are we offering? Where can you find those “scholarly” sources your professor keeps talking about? Did you see the incredible model of Barret designed entirely of graham crackers and candy? What about that Flash Rave that rocked the lobby last semester? The Barret Facebook page offers answers provides all of this and more!

We want this page to belong to the Rhodes community. Feel free to posts comments, questions, photos of events in the library, photos of you and your friends just hanging out, reminders of upcoming events, source suggestions, etc. We look forward to hearing from you!

DML? What is this? Where is this? DML stands for the Digital Media Lab, and it’s one of the awesome work spaces in the Barret Library! Read what Joe Wack, Multimedia Service Manager, has to say:

The Digital Media Lab (DML), located in Barret Library 210, provides students, faculty and staff with professional multimedia creation software and hardware. The staff of student technicians provide one-on-one assistance with the resources in the Lab to help visitors with video editing, Photoshop techniques, slide scanning, or to even design professional DVD projects.

The DML hosts weekly multimedia training workshops taught by our Rhodes Student Associates and guest faculty and staff members. The schedule may be found posted on the door.

The computers in the DML have the latest versions of a host of multimedia programs, such as the Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection, Audacity, DVDFlick, and Autodesk?s Maya 3D modeling program.

The DML can accommodate all types of multimedia projects, including:

Document scanning and processing

Digital video production

Advanced audio editing

DVD authoring and creation

Audio recording

Digital photography

Slide, film, and photo scanning

Advanced website production

Flash project authoring

Video file rendering for streaming

The multimedia facilities in the DML are designed to help you take any kind of media and convert it into a more modern, digital format and then build a finished product with it. In addition, various tools in the DML exist to help you create new digital media files that can be used in various ways in the construction of a new media project. Projects in the DML may range from shooting digital video to producing that video to the rendering of a finished DVD project. Or, you can use the audio editing software to create multi-tracked, high-quality recordings. Also, any equipment available for checkout from the Media Center in LL31 of the library is compatible with the equipment in the DML.

Student technicians are available to help you with a project or answer any questions. Their specialties and hours are posted in the lab.

Recent projects include Liz Dagget’s documentary filmmaking course and the digitization of the Rhodes Magazine and McCoy archive.

Help spread the word. We’ve seen too many students frustrated and on the verge of breaking down because they’ve lost hours worth of writing and edits. Why? They’ve opened an attachment in their email and began editing straight from this attachment. All of these students thought they had saved their work, but when they try to find their document again – it’s GONE! And yes, it’s gone! Rather, it never was saved. Yes, they thought they saved it. Yes, the machine went through some steps that helped them believe they saved it, but it DOES NOT save the work! There’s an involved explanation for this, and if you really want to hear it, come by the helpdesk and we’ll gladly spill it to you in all it’s confusing detail.

Please, we beg you. DO NOT edit straight from an email attachment. Save the document to the desktop, to a flash drive, to something. We cannot help you recover your document, and it makes us all sad. It will make you even more sad to realize that the last few hours have all been for naught…

Image of the larger Kindle from Amazon. One of many E-Readers

We’ve been using digital resources for years. Go back to the post on databases with the full knowledge that all of the journal articles, newspaper articles, images, book reviews, etc. are in a digital format. Barret also subscribes to Net-Library, so we already offer our users thousands of electronic books. However, it’s difficult to read digital content on a computer screen. I did my entire graduate degree online, and I can tell you that I printed any article that I read for a number of reasons. The main reason is that reading on a computer screen strains my eyes. It’s easier to read the printed page.

Enter the new E-Readers. Many of them, like Amazon’s Kindle, do not have the back-light issue of computer screens. They read like paper. They’re small, light weight, and you can store 100’s of books, newspapers, etc. on one little machine. Recently, choices in e-readers have exploded. Barnes and Nobles has their version (Nook), Sony has a version, there are several others, and of course, Apple has just launched its new iPad. This added competition is helping work out bugs and really bring the technology to new standards.

So with this onslaught the debates have been raging. Will libraries replace their books with e-readers? Some are offering e-readers just to test the waters and see how patrons react. Some school libraries are adopting them to cut expenses and help with space issues. Princeton University ran a pilot program to test replacing traditional text books with electronic versions accessed through e-readers. Response from the students and professors was luke warm. Many complained that it changed their entire approach to study. They could not highlight, write in the margins, or tag the electronic version in the same way they interact with the paper text. Still, this is a group of students more accustomed to the printed page. Will we eventually see the replacement of traditional texts? Will the next generation of students begin school with an e-reader in hand instead of a backpack full of text books? Will the developers of e-readers respond to pilot programs like the one at Princeton and introduce ways to interact more with the text? Only time will tell, but it sure is interesting to witness this change in the way humans view the written word.

What do you think? Have you used any of the e-readers or do you foresee yourself adopting an e-reader any time soon? Are they the future of reading or just another passing fad?

Hello again! No, we haven’t disappeared, just been busy testing new waters and shuffling ideas about. Which, by the way, leads me to this current post. Recently, I taught a class for a professor who commented that it pleased him a great deal to see how much the students of this campus use the library. He said whenever he walked into the library of his former university, it was practically empty. I have to admit, this comment pleased me a great deal as well, and he’s right. Students do use this library! It’s a wonderful thing to witness, and if you have the chance to sit back and really observe the activity in this library, you’ll notice that students use the library in a multitude of ways.

Obviously, we have the student/s that come for a peaceful place to study. They find a cubby, hunker down, and go to work. We have groups of students who come in to work on projects or study for tests together. Sometimes they simply pull some chairs together, but sometimes they use the study rooms designed for this specific purpose. Students come in simply to find resources. They have a paper or project due and they need sources. Sometimes they are in here because a professor sent them. Perhaps the professor has placed an item on reserve. Students come here to check out equipment like cameras, laptops, or video recorders. Many come here to type their papers on one of the library’s computers. Groups, such as classes or organizations, use the library to hold meetings, classes, or other special functions. The Board of Trustees recently used this space to hold a special dinner. This library is also a social area for many of the Rhodes community. Students simply come in to hang out, catch up with friends or have a friendly place to inhabit between classes, events or other obligations.

It’s a dynamic place to be, and it’s very different from the old image of the hallowed building of total silence. Which brings me to this next point. Recently, a group on Facebook has been brought to my attention. They call themselves “Reclaim the Library” and below I’ve pasted the gist of their existence:

“Can’t find a quiet place to sit and study? You’re not the only one.
With the progression of the 21st century, as well as the invention of mobile phones, library etiquette has gone down the toilet bowl. It is NOT okay to talk in libraries, *especially* in the quiet study area.

This group is about raising awareness about the dire state of our libraries, and about empowering people to say “SSSHHHHHH”.
Please don’t be afraid to tell people to shut … up if they are disturbing your peace in the library!
And if you are talking, please be prepared to be told!

**The library must be a house of silence**

1. Have all mobile phones and computers on silent
2. If you must answer a call, please move out of earshot of anyone studying. This generally means a number of meters away and around a corner, not next to the desks.
3. Group discussions should happen in delegated (sound-proofed) discussion rooms, cafes, courtyards, public toilets etc. – NOT at the common desks. These desks are still for quiet study, even though you may be facing your friends.

Please invite all your friends to this group. Let’s create awareness together and spread the word! (but quietly, of course) :”

Wow! Pretty bold statement – especially the “library Must be a place of silence” part of it. So what do you think? Has our library gone too wild? Should the library staff be more vigilant with the shhhh’s? Are you able to work well in this space? We’re interested in hearing what you have to say. Most of all, we want you to continue using your library. It’s a great place to be for a multitude of reasons.

I’ve already discussed the font of information you can obtain from using our databases in this post. Read over it again if you need a refresher on databases and how to use them. Today I want to expand on this a little and tell you about our Trial Database link on the Library home page. You can find this section on the Library Website right above the link for the Blog.

New databases are being created on a regular basis and we often have an opportunity to run these free for a short period of time. Recently we ran trials of African American Newspapers 1827-1998 and Civil War Antebellum Period to Reconstruction. Both of these were available through November 1. We also have a trial of Gale Digital Collections that will be available through November 4.

Running trials of databases is one of the ways we make decisions concerning which databases to offer as part of our resource collection. The most important thing we ask of you is that you test these databases and then leave us feedback. You can email comments, complaints, requests that we Please, Please, Please add this to our collection to infodesk@rhodes.edu. Or you can always contact your Library Liaison!

I also want to let you know that we have added a new database, Grzemiek’s Animal Life! This is an electronic version of a resource that we already have in print form. This new database covers massive information on over 4,000 animal species. It also offers special features such as interactive range maps, conservation updates, photos, audio clips and videos. Enjoy!

You have your assignment. You’ve chosen your topic. Now you want to see if there are any resources to support your assignment. You begin searching databases. First you choose one, do your search, cull the results, etc. Now you choose another database and do the same search again…and another…and another…

Or, you have a specific journal title and you need to know if Rhodes has full text access. You have no idea which database to begin searching in…

Sigh, don’t you wish there was a way to search multiple databases at once? Rejoice, dear friends, because there is! You simply go to the Barret homepage and click the 360 option.

You can search all databases, or you can choose specific databases to search. It may take a little time to run the search – especially if you are searching all. When finished, 360 will list your results. It automatically weeds out any duplicates for you, and also allows you to view the results in different categories. For example, you can view the results by topic or by journal. These different views may help you refine your search by leading you to specific journals or authors.

Just remember, not all of Barret’s databases are included in 360. However, enough are included to make the task of searching multiple databases a breeze. Now jump in and have some fun!

Last post we focused on the Barret Library Catalog. This post we will move on to the second search option on the Library and Information Technology homepage – “search for database titles. What is a database, and exactly what is it referring to in a research context? Simply put, a database is a collection of items. These items can be journal articles, newspaper articles, maps, letters, diary entries, images, etc. Barret offers you a variety of databases covering any subject you may study while here at Rhodes. So, the research context of these databases is that they contain material that will be valuable to your research quests.

Your professors may suggest specific databases when assigning projects, or you may be left to discover on your own. If given suggestions, simply type in the name of the database in the search box (be sure you’ve tagged the database search and not the catalog), and you’ll be taken directly to a link for that database. For example, ProQuest will provide links to two ProQuest database collections.

If you have not been given suggestions by your professor, don’t panic. Simply type in a subject term (history, religion, art, education, etc) that best describes your area of interest. A list of suggested databases will appear and you can begin your search.

Searching databases if fast and rewarding. They can be accessed from anywhere that you have Internet access, and they’ve taken a lot of the grunt work out of the research process. Remember, if you have any problems, or would like a run through on using the databases, you can visit any of the information professionals at the Help Desk. We’re always happy to help you succeed!

Today will begin a series highlighting different resources in the library and how to access and use these resources. The first resource we’ll visit is the Library Catalog! The library catalog is your portal to a vast amount of resources in Barret. It leads to records for books, periodicals (journals, mags, newspapers), audio/visual resources and many electronic resources.

You find the catalog by visiting the library home page (go to Barret home page, click on academics, click on library and information technology). Once here, you’ll see the first search area on the left of the page. The catalog is the default search item. You can click on “Barret Library Catalog” to go straight to the catalog page.

This is where you will begin your search. You’ll see by the drop down menu that you can search by word or phrase, author, title, periodical title, subject or series. Once you type in your search term/s, the results page will tell you the type of resource, where it is located, if it is available or checked out, or provide a URL to access an electronic resource.

Remember, if you need additional help searching the catalog, you can go to the “need help” section on the library home page and click “locating library materials“, and you can always ask one of your information services professionals for assistance. Have fun!

As promised, I’m here to provide more information on the new Library Liaison Program. We’ve introduced the concept to the New faculty and also the History Department! In the next few weeks, we’ll hopefully have a liaison visit each department.

So what exactly is this program? In a nutshell, it’s an effort on our part to create a stronger connection between the Rhodes teaching community and Information Services. Some of our goals include:

Strengthening the library as a partner in research and lifelong learning

Teach library research skills to the students

Keep each department updated on Library/IT issues

Provide research consultations for faculty

Seek input in collection development

Working collaboratively with faculty to manage access to scholarly literature including books, journals and electronic resources

Each department will have one Liaison assigned as their contact person. However, we consider this a team effort. Your liaison is your direct connection to over 14 professionals trained to meet your information needs! In the next post I’ll break down the liaisons and their specific departments. We’re excited about the opportunities this program will provide for faculty and students. Let us know how we can better serve you!

Wow! Hard to believe we’re about to start a new fall semester. If you’re returning to Rhodes, you may have noticed some slight changes to the Barret website. One of our information services librarians, Greg Paraham, has been busy collaborating with one of the communications staff to redesign the layout of certain pages. The goal is to make it easier for users to find the resources they need.

Notice the use of that “collaborating” word! Information services is making a great effort to make its presence more known in the Rhodes Community. One of our biggest efforts will reveal itself with our new Library Liaisons. New faculty will be introduced to this tomorrow during their orientation. The two times designated are 1:00 – 2:15 and 3:00 – 4:15. In the next few posts, I’ll tell you more about Library Liaisons and what this will entail…

Hello from Barret!

We’ve taken a bit of a hiatus in the blog world. It’s been a busy summer so far. The library staff has completed an inventory of the physical library collection. It was rough, but has already shown us a great deal concerning this aspect of the collection. We’ve also been engaging in numerous training opportunities. The IT side of Information Services has been equally busy running updates, installing new software, and preparing for students to return in August. It’s too much to list everything in this post, but know that just because students leave for summer, Information Services doesn’t slow down!

Just an FYI for everyone: Barret Library will be closed all day Friday, July 3rd in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. We will open the doors again @ 8:30 a.m. on Monday July 6th.

See you next week. We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

D-Lynx is a dynamic, web-based digital archives repository. This space is used to manage digital material created by the college community, and it’s open to all members of the Rhodes community (including Alumni!). D-Lynx is committed to the stewardship and long-term preservation of digital materials in a secure, permanent format that is organized and simple to access. All items placed in D-Lynx are search-able and brows-able. They can be accessed on campus through D-Lynx, and they are also searchable through other search engines like Google!

D-Lynx is compatable with Moodle and provides access to stored work from anywhere. It’s a great place to archive professional publications, photos, faculty collections, newspapers, committee documents, department records and more! It’s organized using the college’s organizational categories of Divisions, Departments, Offices and so forth.

Barret’s archivist, Elizabeth Gates, and a diligent RSA have already entered most of the Rhodes Syllabi into D-Lynx, and soon the archives crew will begin the special project of digitizing all of the old Sou’wester issues for inclusion in the repository. Elizabeth and Stacy Pennington have worked hard to make D-Lynx user friendly by creating templates and forms that make creating a collection fast and easy to follow. Check out this great space @ http://dam.rhodes.edu:8080/dspace/, and contact Ms. Gates (3902) to discover how valuable D-Lynx can be for you!

So you’ve heard from some of your colleagues how wonderful this streaming stuff is. You bring in a tape or DVD and the Media Center does some magic that creates a format that can be utilized right with your Moodle course, or placed in your server file allowing access to your entire class! It’s awesome! You decide to try this and send a student bearing one of your old VHS tapes. You plan to have this available to your students the next day. No problem. They just play the movie and voila!

Well, not quite. It’s a little more detailed than this.

VHS tapes must first be converted to DVD. Once this is finished, the new DVD must then be encrypted and decoded. This means that every frame has to be pixilized. This can take 24 hours or longer. Longer movies are usually set up to run overnight. Once this is completed, the next step is referred to as “hand break”. This converts the file to Mp4 and it can now go onto the server. Total time for all of this can be 3 days or more.

Also, the Media Center only has two sets of machines that will create these files, and items are completed on a first come first serve basis. In other words, there may be quite a line in front of you. All this to say having an item streamed for your class takes some time, so plan accordingly.

A few more facts and hints:

You can have old LP’s streamed.

Cassette Tapes do not seem to do well.

If the movie has subtitles, please tell the Media Center crew if you want those subtitles left on the film. This requires some additional work on their end.

Some VHS tapes have a copyright block. We can’t do anything about this.

Remember: The College must own the materials you want streamed. The Media Center CANNOT do personal copies. It is illegal! Department owned is ok, but nothing you taped at home on your own VCR!

For more information on streaming please contact Rose Ann Hicks @ 3886, or Joe Wack @ 3125. They will also be hosting a Lunch & Learn on Tuesday, April 28th from 11:30 – 12:30 in the Alburty Room.

Summer is a great time to have materials prepared for the fall term, so think ahead and pace yourself!

Congratulations to Darlene Brooks! Darlene has recently been awarded the Memphis Area Library Council (MALC) Award for Excellence. This is a peer voted award recognizing a Memphis Area librarian for excellence in service. Bob Johnson, Dean of Information Services, said a few words about the honoree. His speech detailed how co-workers were asked to define Ms. Brooks using only one word. Some of these included: Professional, Tenacious, Warm, Positive, Loyal, Selfless, and our “favorite, Hufflepuffian, meaning earnest, dedicated, and loyal.”

This is not the first time Darlene has been recognized for her outstanding leadership and service. In 2007, Rhodes honored her with the Outstanding Administrator Award, “acknowledging her dedicated service to students, faculty, staff and visitors of the library.” Recently, Ms. Brooks was accepted to the Frye Leadership Institute, hosted by Emory University. This is an intensive program designed to train the best leaders emerging in IT and Librarianship. Awesome!

Come in to Barret and meet this incredible leader striving to ensure we deliver the best possible service to all of the Rhodes Community!

Ahhh the “P” word. Yes, that’s right, I’m now doing a post on Procrastination. I remember the good ole days…back when I would wait until the last minute to do my assignments. In a frantic rush, I would finally start my research, stay up all night, skip a few classes (because I had to write the paper once I had researched it), and all the time swearing to anyone close enough to hear, “I work best under pressure”. It’s a way of life in college, right?

WRONG! It doesn’t have to be, and it shouldn’t be. Nobody does their best work crunched like this. Stop trying to fool yourselves. There’s a reason this assignment has been on your syllabus since the beginning of the semester. There’s a reason your professor started mentioning this assignment weeks ago. Research, Writing, and Decent Projects take planning and T-I-M-E!!

Yea, Yea, I know this is falling on deaf ears, but hear me out for a minute. I promise it will make your life easier and actually give you more time to do the fun things you want to fit in. Waiting until the last minute only adds stress and anxiety. It’s much easier to do some of this work a little bit at a time than to have an overnight cram session. Not waiting until the last minute gives you freedom and the opportunity to make choices that procrastination does not allow. You might even have fun working on this project/paper, and you might just WOW yourself with what you are capable of pulling together.

And remember, we’re here to help you any time during this process. Can’t figure out how to find the article you just pulled up on the computer? No problem, come see one of us! Need help putting that killer table you’ve created in your PPT presentation? No problem, come see one of us!

Time is indeed on your side, if you’ll use and manage it wisely. Your first step may just be a trip in to Barret! Come see us. We can help!

WorldCat!

In the last post I mentioned that you needed to be sure Rhodes College, or one of the Memphis area libraries, does not have an item before you submit a request for an ILL. How do you do this? One word: WorldCat!

Long time ago in an age of pre-computer miracles, locating materials outside of your physical library required incredible effort. One would have to physically visit several libraries, or spend some time with a reference librarian while several phone calls were made. Still, the results were often limited to a small mileage radius. This scenario, however, is ancient history. Now you can search the libraries within your community as well as several around the world with a few keystrokes and a click. Welcome to the wonders of WorldCat!
WorldCat is a collaborative effort between libraries around the world to provide access to as much material as possible. It is growing daily, and Barret Library provides this wonderful service to its entire community. You can find the link to WorldCat on the library’s home page under “research sources”. Once in WorldCat, you can perform a simple search, or hit advanced search and limit your item by specific qualifiers. For example, you can search for music scores, serial publications, audio recordings, etc. WorldCat then magically lets you know exactly which libraries have the item. Awesome!

WorldCat is a wonderful tool to help you with your research process. It literally removes the physical boundaries of the library and opens you to a world of possibilities.

OMG! What do you mean you don’t have this article/book/etc? I NEED it!

Well, let’s be frank for a moment, shall we? Although the collection we offer the Rhodes community is impressive, it is downright impossible to have everything. No library can claim to have Everything. However, don’t fret, because Information Services has you covered with a little thing we call I.L.L. For those of you that don’t know, that’s library speak for Interlibrary Loan!

Wikipedia defines Interlibrary Loan as “a service whereby a user of one library can borrow books or receive photocopies of documents that are owned by another library.” Pretty Cool, Right? Here’s the best part…

It’s Free -ish. Occasionally another institution may charge a small amount, but not usually.

It’s Easy – as long as you follow a few simple rules!

And Kenan Padgett is one of the best I.L.L. Librarians around! (can you tell we’re just a little biased?)

Kenan Padgett, ILL Librarian

Here’s what you need to know about I.L.L.

First you need to make sure we truly don’t have the item you seek. You also need to make sure it’s not held by one of the other libraries in Memphis. Once you’ve covered your basis and are sure you cannot get this item any other way, you simply fill out the I.L.L. form and submit it. This form can be found on the Information Services website here :http://www.rhodes.edu/barret/3225.asp. You can find this link on the Information Services Homepage under Library Services, or when you are searching for materials in the databases the option for I.L.L. will be available.

Be sure to fill out the form correctly and completely. Pay close attention to the citation information and give all of it.

Remember, I.L.L. can take TIME. There’s processing on both ends, plus the time it takes for an item to be sent to Rhodes. In other words, DO NOT wait until the last minute and expect miracles!

Once the item you’ve requested has arrived, Kenan will a.send you an email with the electronic version attached as a pdf (if it comes this way), or b. send you an email telling you to come pick the item up at the circulation desk.

Please remember that these items come from other libraries. They set the due date. Be respectful of this and get these materials back ON TIME! Please!

There you have it. Interlibrary Loan is available to any member of the Rhodes Community and is just one of the many ways Information Services strives to empower your research process.

ILL Librarian = Goddess of the Hunt

Check back later to learn more on how to access the resources you need!

“Rhymes with Orange” cartoon by Hilary B. Price 2/6/2009

The above cartoon reminds me just how much of a misconception still exists about libraries, what they are, and what happens in them. Seems some still see the library as this dead warehouse like space that simply holds old musty books. It’s amazing how slow some stereotypes die. Yes, Barret is a library, but this building is so much more than a repository for books.

You’ll find books here. You’ll find lots of books. Believe it or not books are still a valuable research source and one of the tomes in this building may be the gem you’ve been seeking for that research paper that’s due any day now. However, books do not begin to scratch the surface of the services offered to you through Information Services. Here’s a list of other reasons to visit Barret:

Computers! We have a lot and they all have full internet access

Printing and photo copies – we have several printers including one color printer and also several photocopiers

Periodicals – otherwise known as Journals. Barret holds over 1,200 print periodical subscriptions

Databases – we offer you several subscription databases that provide access to over 15,000 full-text journals

99,000 microfilm/microfiche items

Over 11,000 audio visual items including DVD’s, videotapes, phonodisks, and CD’s

One of the best Interlibrary Loan Librarians in Memphis! If we don’t happen to have the exact resource you need, Kenan can probably find it for you!

A great Rare Books Room with a friendly and fabulous Archivest ready to help you

A Digital Media Lab equipped with scanners and software to help make sure your projects rock!

Trained staff to help you learn to use those scanners and software

Smart classrooms/labs

A theatre for viewing movies and other visual media

An awesome staff ready to help you navigate any of these resources

A great IT staff working diligenlty to ensure the Rhodes community has the latest technology and that it all works

Fantastic study cubbies and comfy furniture that you can rearrange to suit your needs

I’ll stop here, but realize I could post pages on everything Information Services has to offer. Rhodes is leading the way in redefining “library” and its function. I’ll dedicate future posts to going over some of these resources in detail so check back soon!

TaDa!

The NEW Barret Information Services Blog!

Information Services consists of the library, information technology, and institutional research. This division is in the business of delivering information resources and services to the members of our community who need those resources either for academic research or non-academic research, and we manage the tools and other means to ensure access and preservation of these resources. We are an information flow organization, and to that end provide a level of information and technology that empowers the Rhodes community to achieve its aspirations without drawing distinctions among our departments or its members.

We have librarians who work in ITS and technologists who work in library positions. We’re blurring the lines more every day because the environment in which we work is less defined, and because the people we serve rarely bring us “pure” research or technology issues. The implications and considerations run across boundaries all the time.

• How does this unique organizational design benefit you?

• What kinds of tools help empower the Rhodes Community?

•Where does the building we call Barret fit into this picture?

This blog will answer these questions and more. It will also introduce you to the staff, new materials and services, and the day-to-day functions of the information services division. Most important, it will establish why Barret is a critical component of your Rhodes College experience.

Visit the Library and Information Technology Home page and begin exploring what Information Services has to offer: http://www.rhodes.edu/barret/

…and check back with us periodically to find out more!
