I’m headed to Madrid, guys. Sorry about the lack of updating since I got back from China, but frankly, there wasn’t all that much to talk about.
The highlights in Houston? I went to a couple of concerts, hung out a bunch with my high school friends, and worked. It was altogether quite meh.
To tide y’all over till the next (Madrilenian) post, I’ll put up a couple of pics from China/this summer.
Here are my friends Jill and Alyssia from Shanghai. (Jill incidentally also goes to Rhodes, and we had an excellent time enjoying the Shanghainese nightlife. Here’s your shoutout, Jill. Hope it suffices.) Yes, we found that strange creature’s head just sitting on a chair in some arcade.

Here’s another fun snapshot of me with a few friends. These kids are my church buddies. We’ve gotten together for a Luau-themed sharing meeting.

I leave the house in 15 minutes. I’m terrified. Terrified I’ll have way too much fun. JK, but in all seriousness, there’s a lot of pent-up anxiety, anticipation, apprehension, and excitement just waiting to let loose once I land in a country where everyone speaks another language. It’s ‘kay, though, I asked for it. Complete language immersion? Bring it.
Have fun! But… big tip… Everyone in Madrid speaks English too!
It’s once you get away from the touristy places that you will find yourself needing to use some mad Spanish skills!
love the shoutout! have fun in madrid and see you next sem/year!! xxx
