I would like to be that person who thinks of catchy titles for their blog, but, alas, no such luck.  It’s about 8 am on a Thursday, and I’m sitting in my office before anyone else arrives to work.  Basically, I’m trying to calm my anxiety about the fact that we start RA Training in one week.  Seriously, in one week, we’ll invite 36 RAs back to campus to come and learn how to serve and support the residents of Rhodes College.  The concept of that is great.  It’s the timeline that’s stressing me out a little.

See, we still have a lot to do and I’m wondering what happened to the summer.  Just yesterday (or three months ago) everyone was moving out and we had months to plan for this moment.  Now, we have a week.  Don’t get me wrong, we’ve been doing work all along: making schedules, doing assessments and getting 1st year students housed.  But, now, it’s that moment when the countdown begins.

So, I hope that you take the next few weeks to enjoy the summer.  Try not to stress out about things.  Things happened.  Plans change.  Speaking of changing plans, make sure that you’re familiar with the move-in schedule.  We’re trying to coordinate the move-in logistics of more than 1300 students in a two week span, so we have a schedule.  Feel free to call or email us if you have questions!

Stay cool.  (That’s how I signed all of my 7th grade yearbooks…and I thought I was so clever.)
