It all starts in the fall… We visit high schools and you come to campus to visit us. We meet you while we are “on the road” at coffeehouses and homes for receptions. You come to Memphis for overnight stays, personal meetings, and to get a feel for the Rhodes community.
It continues in the winter… You send us your applications. We read, re-read, and then read again. What in January seems like a never-ending stack of applications is read by February and early March.
And on in to spring… Admissions decisions have been made and we meet in committee to award our merit-based fellowships. Admissions decisions go out followed by financial packages 10 days later.
Then it starts to happen… we begin to hear from the students that will make up next year’s freshman class.
MAY 2nd: THE CULMINATION!
As of May 2, we have the Rhodes College Class of 2012! We look forward to welcoming a class of 482 students that represents 38 states and an amazing variety of interests and talents (at least that’s what you convinced us of with your essays!)
The new class to-date boasts yet another strong academic profile and a record 19% students of color. These new students will soon be attending one of four Open Rhodes orientation programs this summer, and will be moving into our community on August 21st. For more information for new students, please visit www.rhodes.edu/newstudents any time!
This year has been an amazing journey. We have enjoyed getting to know so many of you—either in person or through your applications. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon and having you in the Rhodes community!
